Overview
steak lets users stake Robinhood Tokens and earn a percentage of protocol trading fees routed into a shared rewards pool. Unlike models where fees go to a developer or team wallet, steak distributes value back to stakers on a fixed schedule.
The entire flow is designed to be transparent: every fee inflow and every WETH payout is verifiable on-chain via the Fees and Payouts explorers.
Hold $steak
Your wallet must hold the $steak token before you can access the staking terminal.
Stake via validator
Deposit through Robinhood's validator module to join the rewards pool.
Earn fee share
Your cut scales with your staked amount relative to total pool stake.
Receive WETH
Payouts land in your wallet every 15 minutes. No manual claiming.
The validator module
Robinhood released a new validator module as part of their latest AI update. steak integrates with this module to route a percentage of protocol trading fees into a single shared rewards pool instead of a private treasury or developer wallet.
When you stake through steak, your tokens are registered with the validator module. The module tracks your position, calculates your proportional fee share, and triggers WETH distributions on the 15-minute cycle.
What the module does
- Accepts stake deposits from eligible $steak holders
- Routes protocol trading fees into the rewards pool
- Calculates each staker's share based on staked balance vs. total stake
- Distributes WETH to staker wallets every 15 minutes
- Emits on-chain events for the Fees and Payouts explorers
app.js.
$steak eligibility
steak is gated. When you connect your wallet, the site reads your on-chain
$steak balance via the standard ERC-20 balanceOf call.
You hold $steak
Staking controls unlock. You can deposit into the validator module and start earning your share of fees from the rewards pool.
You don't hold $steak
The site shows: "You can't stake yet — you need to hold $steak." Staking controls stay disabled until you acquire the token and reconnect.
This gate exists so only $steak holders participate in the fee-sharing mechanism.
The token address is configured as STEAK_TOKEN_ADDRESS in
app.js.
How to stake
Follow these steps on the Stake page:
Connect your wallet
Click Connect Wallet and approve the connection in MetaMask or your Robinhood Tokens wallet.
Verify $steak balance
The site checks your $steak holdings automatically. Your balance appears in the stat card at the top of the Stake page.
Enter amount & stake
Type how much $steak you want to stake and confirm the transaction. Your stake is routed through the validator module.
Watch the countdown
The Stake page shows a live timer to the next 15-minute WETH payout. Your estimated share updates as the pool grows.
Unstaking
You can unstake at any time, subject to the validator module's epoch rules. When you unstake, you stop earning new fee shares from that point forward. Any WETH already queued for distribution will still be sent on the next cycle.
Rewards & fees
Protocol trading fees flow into the rewards pool continuously. Stakers earn a percentage of those fees proportional to their stake:
The more you stake relative to everyone else, the larger your cut. If you stake 10% of the total pool, you earn roughly 10% of each fee distribution cycle.
Where fees come from
- Trading fees from protocol activity on supported Robinhood Token networks
- Fees routed by the validator module — not collected by a dev wallet
- Accumulated in the pool between 15-minute payout windows
Every fee event is logged in the Fees explorer with a timestamp, source, amount, and Etherscan transaction hash.
WETH payouts every 15 minutes
Rewards are paid in WETH, not in $steak or another token. Every 15 minutes, the validator module distributes accumulated pool fees directly to each staker's connected wallet.
Fixed interval
Payouts happen on a global 15-minute clock. The Stake page shows a live countdown.
WETH only
All rewards are denominated in Wrapped Ether (WETH) for broad composability.
Direct to wallet
No claiming step. WETH arrives in your wallet automatically each cycle.
The Payouts explorer lists every distribution with wallet address, WETH amount, timestamp, and tx hash. It stays empty until real on-chain payouts occur — nothing is simulated.
On-chain explorers
steak ships two explorer pages so anyone can audit fee inflows and payout distributions independently:
| Explorer | What it shows | Columns | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Payouts | WETH sent to stakers every 15 min | Time, Wallet, Amount, Tx hash | Empty until live |
| Fees | Protocol fees routed into the pool | Time, Source, Amount, Tx hash | Empty until live |
Each row links to Etherscan so you can verify transactions yourself. We do not fabricate or simulate entries.

FAQ
Why do I need to hold $steak to stake?
$steak is the eligibility token. Only holders can access the validator module and earn from the rewards pool. This keeps participation aligned with the token community.
What token do I get paid in?
WETH (Wrapped Ether). Payouts arrive every 15 minutes directly in your connected wallet — no claiming required.
How is my reward share calculated?
Proportional to your stake: (your staked amount ÷ total staked) × fees in the pool for that cycle.
Why are the Payouts and Fees pages empty?
No one has been paid out yet and no fees have been routed on-chain. The explorers populate automatically once real activity begins. We never simulate fake transactions.
Is this affiliated with Robinhood?
No. steak is an independent community concept built around the idea of Robinhood's validator module. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Robinhood Markets, Inc.
Can I unstake anytime?
Yes, subject to the validator module's epoch rules. You stop earning new shares once unstaked, but any queued WETH still distributes on the next cycle.
